Large Three Port Diverter Valves Details, Instructions for changing the port

Valve handle may have a quick release/ lock which must be squeezed to move the handle. (If this feature is inconvenient, you can remove the quick release part of the handle by cutting off its pivot points with a sharp knife)
To determine which port is the inlet, move the valve handle as far as it goes in each direction. The port that is never covered is the inlet.
To change the inlet, take the screws out of the face plate and rotate it.
With the "off" marker in the wide space between stops, the handle can rotate through 180° to send water to one or both outlet ports. With the "off" marker in the narrow space between stops and the face plate rotated 45°, the handle can rotate through 90° to send water to one or the other outlet. To switch modes, remove the screw that holds the valve handle, lift the valve handle, rotate it, and drop in down on the other side of a stop....note that the valve face also needs to be rotated 45° so the handle lines up right with the ports.
If the valve handle hits something as it spins, you may be able to avoid the obstacle by rotating the face so that the handle travels a different arc. In some versions of this fix, an undesirable valve position is possible (such as blocking the inlet) so if you do this label the permissible positions well.
Motor Drives: Our understanding is that 3-way valves from Pentair, Jandy, and Waterways are all compatible with each other's motor drives.
